Apam Senior High School, Bolgatanga Girls’ Senior High School and T.I AMASS, Kumasi have progressed to the One-Eighth stage of the 2019 edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz.

The first contest, which took place at the New N Block, featured Apam Senior High School, Winneba Senior High School and Daboase Senior High Technical School, and ended with a very impressive performance from the boys from Apam, as they dominated the entire contest from the very beginning, thus earning their place at the one-eighth stage.

The second contest of the day saw Bolgatanga Girls’ Senior High School also qualifying to the next stage, after a rather laid back performance, which almost got them kicked out of the competition by Ashaiman SHS, who ended the contest with 20 points. Lawra SHS, the third contender in that contest, barely made it out of the contest alive, as they finished the contest with 8 points.

Ashanti Region based T.I. AMASS, Kumasi, who scored 53 points from the Regional Competition, improved their score in the Prelims to 55 points, beating Berekum Senior High School and Bawku Senior High Technical School in the last contest of the day.

Berekum SHS can, however, make a comeback into the competition, as they are currently at the top of the list of the 18 highest scoring losing schools.

The Prelims action will continue on Tuesday, June 18, and will see Central Regional Champions, St Augustine’s College come against Bolgatanga SHS, also known as Big Boss, and Walewale SHS.
