2018 Champions of the National Science & Maths Quiz, St. Peter’s SHS will on Saturday June 29, 2019, begin their campaign to retain their title in a contest that promises full fireworks.

PERSCO won last year’s Championships by the skin of their teeth, when many had written them off to lift the trophy.

St. Peter’s SHS beat NSMQ2018 favourites, West Africa SHS by a one point margin. Adisadel College was also in the contest.

The Reigning Victors will in this year, face a daunting task of taming the aggressive and strategic contestants from Apam SHS and Drobo SHS at the One-Eighth Stage. Apam SHS have had an impressive run from the Central Regional Qualifiers through to Prelims, and poses great danger to St. Peter’s SHS.

Drobo SHS may also want to prove a point in this particular contest, after they narrowly escaped elimination from the Prelims to make an appearance at the One-Eighth Stage as one of the 18 highest-scoring losing schools.

NSMQ2018 First Runner-up, West Africa SHS will also begin their campaign to win the trophy for the first time in the last One-Eighth Stage contest involving Takoradi SHS and Sogakope SHS slated for Wednesday July 3, 2019.

WASS has been consistent and improving on their performance each year since they first appeared on the National Stage in 2016, and had almost the entire Nation backing them in 2018. They will have to begin the campaign on a good footing to retain the loyalty of Ghanaians.

One-time winner and 2018 finalist Adisadel College will begin their search for a second trophy, but not until they cross the hurdle in a contest against Nsutaman SHS and Ghanata SHS on Wednesday June 26, 2019.

2007 winners St. Augustine’s College was handed a tough contest, which many NSMQ fanatics have described as the ‘Group of Death’. They will be in action with two-time champions Mfantsipim School, and Swedru SHS in a Central Regional derby. This interesting contest will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.

The One-Eighth stage of the 2019 National Science & Maths Quiz will begin on Monday, June 24, 2019, with 81 schools competing for supremacy as Champions of Science and Mathematics in Ghana.

The winners of the 27 contests will then progress to the Quarterfinals, where they will gain automatic qualification to the 2020 edition of the Competition.
