The outgoing Managing Director and CEO of Ghana Oil Limited (GOIL), Mr Patrick Akpe Kwame Akorli has encouraged students to value and make good use their God-given talents. This, he mentioned in a brief Mentorship Session on July 4, to NSMQ Quarterfinalists.
Mr Patrick Akorli, who is also a traditional ruler within the Asogli Traditional Council stated that, change is driven by the education of Science and Maths and as such, his company, Goil, saw the need for this investment to sponsor the National Science and Maths Quiz for the past three years.
He went on to encourage students to make use of this time in their youth to make good decisions, as education plays a major role in an individual’s life. Finally, Mr Akorli advised the students to be focused and to address their shortcomings in order to succeed in life.
The Mentorships Sessions, an initiative that Primetime, organisers of the National Science & Maths Quiz, sought to add to the event to enrich the experience of the participants, is held daily, before the start of each contest. The Sessions permits participants to meet high-profiled professionals in the field of Science and Technology to share their experiences and be mentored by them.
