Sandema SHTS seeded for NSMQ2019

The surprises and shocks of the 2018 National Science & Maths Quiz are far from over as unassuming Sandema SHTS beat Anlo SHS and St. John’s Grammar School in the one-eighth stage of the competition ongoing at the University of Ghana, Legon.

The Upper East region based school becomes the second school from the preliminaries to eliminate a seeded school.

Ghana National College seeded three times in a row

Ghana National College has been seeded for the third time in succession at the 2018 National Science & Maths Quiz and Science Festival ongoing at the University of Ghana, Legon.

David Nathan Obeng-Amoako and Elizabeth-Lynda Nartey proved to be a formidable team as they outdid their counterparts from the Central Region, Swedru SHS and Volta Region-based St. Mary’s Seminary SHS in the fourth one-eighth contest.

Presec-Legon, Mfantsipim, KNUST SHS clash in fierce quarterfinals

The 2018 National Science & Maths Quiz and Science Festival is getting keener and interesting by the day as the top schools fight for supremacy and the bragging rights as champions of science and mathematics in Ghana.

Presbyterian Boys’, Legon will clash with archrivals, Mfantsipim School and KNUST SHS in the first quarterfinal contest on Thursday, June 28, 2018. This contest is regarded as one between the Greater Accra, Central and Ashanti Regions of Ghana.

JEB Award for teachers from less-endowed schools instituted

The Banful Family, on Friday, June 15, 2018, honoured their promise of instituting an award scheme to celebrate the toils of teachers of less-endowed schools who will excel at the 2018 National Science & Maths Quiz and Science Festival.

The annual award, which is in memory of their late parents who were both teachers, will be known as the “Jacob and Elizabeth Banful Memorial Award for Teachers of the School with the Most Impressive Run” or The JEB Award.

NSMQ First-timers, Sonrise SHS beat Opoku Ware School to qualify for one-eighth

Opoku Ware School suffered yet another defeat to Sonrise SHS, debutants at the National Science & Maths Quiz and Science Festival in a nerve-wracking competition.

The Volta Region-based Sonrise SHS left it to the last riddle of the final round to beat their contenders Opoku Ware School and Berekum SHS in the 13th preliminary stage contest.
