Primetime, producers of the 2018 National Science & Maths Quiz and Science Festival, has held an orientation programme for the participants of this year’s event to be staged at the University of Ghana campus.
The move was to equip the participating schools with relevant information geared at making their time at the competition worth an experience.
Among issues discussed included the rules of the contests, registration procedure, sign-out procedures, security tips, transportation arrangements, emergency response just to mention but a few.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Samuel Narte Adjor, Programmes Coordinator for NSMQ2018, advised the students to fully participate in all the activities lined up in order to derive the complete benefits they come with.

Meanwhile an interactive forum dubbed “Time with the Consultants” is slated for Sunday June 10, 2018 and will be between the NSMQ2018 Consultants and the teachers of the 135 participating schools.
It will be recalled that it was at a similar meeting last year where the substitution system was conceived. The system gives the competing schools an opportunity to substitute their contestants by the end of the third round, that is, the Problem of the Day.
The National Science & Maths Quiz and Science Festival is sponsored by the Ghana Education Service through the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools, with support from GCB Bank, GTP, Lancaster University Ghana, Academic City College, Mediferm Multi-Specialist Hospital, Accra College of Medicine, Hawtie Makeup, West African Centre for Cell Biology for Infectious Pathogens and Awake Purified Drinking water.
