The hopes of Accra Academy to make history by winning the 2018 National Science & Maths Quiz for the first time is on course as they today June 14, 2018, won their debut contest.
The Bleoo boys put up a good performance to beat Anlo Afiadenyigba SHS and St. Mary’s Boys SHS in a preliminary competition to gain qualification to the one-eighth stage of NSMQ2018.
Accra Academy has come under serious criticism for being the only boys’ school never to have won any of the 23 editions of the National Science & Maths Quiz
since its inception in 1993 but the contestants want to change the narratives this year.
Their best performance was in 2007 when they placed third in the finals involving St. Augustine’s College and Kumasi Anglican Senior High School in the Grand Finale.
They won their contest with an impressive 44 points whiles their competitors St. Mary’s Boys’ SHS and Anlo Afiadenyigba SHS had 28 and 6 points respectively.
Koforidua Secondary Technical School won their contest with 44 points as against Armed Force SHTS’ 38 points and Awudome SHS’ 31 points.

The two losing schools will be hoping their scores are high enough to push them through to the next round of competition as one of the 18 highest-scoring losing schools.
