OLA SHS, Ho put up a sterling performance to go through the preliminary contest of the on-going 2018 National Science & Maths Quiz and Science Festival at the University of Ghana, Legon.
Their 31 points was enough to send Ghanata SHS and Mim SHS packing out of the contest.
It was the ladies from the Volta Region-based OLA SHS who made their intentions and presence felt from the commencement of the competition with their fierce contender, Ghanata SHS closely following with the hopes of taking the lead while Mim SHS gave up the fight from the onset.

At the end of the penultimate round, the Dodowa-based Ghanata SHS was in the lead, with just a point ahead of OLA SHS while Mim SHS continued to lag behind. Mim SHS had 10 points while Ghanata SHS and OLA SHS, Ho had earned 26 and 25 points respectively.
The contest was then to be decided in the final round where the competing schools had to unravel four riddles from the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

OLA SHS, Ho managed to correctly respond to the first riddle for 3 points. The three schools failed to make the second riddle count as they could not find the right response.
Ghanata SHS successfully answered the third riddle for 3 points to take the lead once more.
The ingenuity of Priscilla Mawuena Ofasi, one of the contestants of OLA SHS, Ho who provided the exact answer to the riddle posed by Dr. Angela Lamptey, the Quiz Mistress, won them the competition.

Before the Quiz mistress could announce the results, the supporters of OLA SHS went into a wild celebration of their victory.
The contest ended with OLA SHS, Ho carrying the day with 31 points while Ghanata SHS scored 29 points with Mim SHS trailing with 10 points.

Apam SHS also displayed an awesome performance to gain qualification to the one-eighth stage of the NSMQ2018. They beat Kintampo SHS and Christ the King SHS.
