The 3rd Edition of the Sci-Tech Fair, organized by Primetime as part of the National Science & Maths Quiz and Science Festival, opened today at the GCB Lecture Hall, University of Ghana, Legon.
At the opening ceremony of the event, Mrs Nana Akua Ankomah-Asare, Managing Director of Primetime in a welcome address pointed out that the Sci-Tech Fair is designed to bring out the creativity of students, and offers them an opportunity to put to test their practical knowledge of all the theories acquired in the classroom.
Delivering her speech, Dr. Angela Tena Mensah, Director for Secondary Education at the Ghana Education Service (GES), said that the Sci-Tech Fair seeks to increase student understanding of practical applications in Science, and to place an interest in students and the general public about the subject, as well as to nurture creative talents and create a platform for the students to exhibit their projects.

She further called on corporate bodies and research institutions to give critical attention to these projects, and congratulated GOIL for supporting the Fair over the years.
In an address by GOIL, sponsors of the 2019 edition of the Sci-Tech Fair, Mr William Mensah, Lubricant Manager, mentioned how proud his company is to be associated with this innovation by Primetime, and expressed their desire to see an improvement in the study of Science in the country, hence, their continuous support of the event.

The two-day Fair is opened to individuals and schools comprising both Junior High and Senior High Schools, as well as some startups. Participating schools in this year’s edition include Apenkwa Presby JHS, Family Life International School, H’Mount Sinai SHS, Ofori Panin SHS, Armed Forces SHTS, and many others.
