Presec, legon produced a remarkable performance of speed and accuracy to progress into the semifinal of the 2019 national science & maths quiz.
The five-time champions delivered a steady performance to dominate the entire contest, to keep hopes alive in ending their 10-year trophy drought.
Their contenders, 2001 winners, Pope John SHS, and Quarterfinal debutants, St John’s School were no match.
The ‘Odade3s’ won the first quarter finals clash with 68 points, with POJOSS and Western Region based, St. John’s School making 47 and 22 points respectively.
The three competing schools left the stage with their wallet filled with cash; thanks to GCB Bank and the Money Zone.
Pope John SHS and St. John’s School earned cash prizes of GHS960.00 and GHS440.00 respectively, while GHS1360.00 went to Presec, Legon.
THE MONEY ZONE WAS INTRODUCED IN 2018, AND TAKES EFFECT FROM THE FINAL STAGES OF THE COMPETITION. THE SCORES THE COMPETING SCHOOLS ACCRUE DURING A CONTEST ARE CONVERTED TO CASH. AT THE QUARTER FINALS, THE TOTAL POINTS FOR EACH SCHOOL IS MULTIPLIED BY GHS5.00, AT THE SEMIFINAL BY GHS10, AND AT THE FINAL BY GHS15.
Presec, Legon will come up against the winners of the the second and third Quarterfinals contest at the Semis.
