Ghana’s first female Aircraft Marshaller, Ms Edem Attipoe, has advised students to inhibit negative attitudes, but rather put in positive efforts to sustain success in the future. She said this during a Mentorship Session on July 1, 2019 at the R.S. Amegashie auditorium. The Mentorship Session is one of the satellite events of the National Science & Maths Quiz and Science Festival, where the students are mentored by renowned individuals in the fields of Science & Technology.
Ms Edem Attipoe, who is also a Professional Secretary and a mother of two stated that only 2 % of women are into Aircraft Marshalling and thus, recommended it to the female students.
During the Session, she based her presentation on Goals, Realisation, Options, Will power, Tactics and Habits, an acronym for G-R-O-W-T-H. She went on to say that individuals need to learn towards a goal and must be focused in order to achieve that goal. She added that, realising the actual reality of a situation and strategizing can equip an individual to achieve their goals.
She ended her presentation by encouraging the students to remain focused on achieving their goals.
The Mentorship Sessions, together with the Picnic and Tours are organised as part of the activities of the National Science and Maths Quiz Festival.
The National Science & Maths Quiz and Science Festival is sponsored by the Ghana Education Service with support from GOIL, GCB Bank, Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, Academic City College, Adansi Travels, Kenya Airways, Medifem Multi-Specialist Hospital & Fertility Centre, Accra College of Medicine, Vimto, Aachen University, Entervarsity, Adesua.store, GTP, Hawtie Makeup, Chikas Beads and Pink Pearl.
