Schools from the Western North balloted and competed amongst themselves, resulting in 2 schools securing their slot at this year’s National Championship. This left the schools in the Western Region battling it in stiffer competitions.
Check out how each contest ended up in the Western North Region –
Contest One – After several years of being absent from the NSMQ Championship, Bia SHTS bounced back by winning the first contest of the Western North Regional Qualifiers.
Contest Two – “He who laughs last, laughs best!” – Bibiani SHTS booked their seat as the 2nd school from the Western North by coming out tops in a closely contested match-up with Nsawora SHS and Sefwi Wiawso SHTS.

In the Western Region, schools faced off fiercely in six contests to choose representatives from the region. Here is a summary of how each contest turned out –
Contest One – Archbishop Porter Girls’ SHS started the contest with a negative point, after a failed bonus attempt. However, they regained composure in the course of the first round, dominated the “Speed Race” and ended the contest in victory, garnering the highest score in the region.
Contest Two – Tarkwa SHS fended off Nkroful Agric SHS and Annor Adjaye SHS in the second contest by winning with a decisive 14-point margin.
Contest Three – On the second day of contests, Nsein SHS masterfully won against Fijai SHS, answering most of the Riddles after the 2 schools had tied at the end of Round 3.

Contest Four – St. Mary’s Boys SHS upstaged Fiaseman SHS, with a wonderful performance in the Speed Race to upset the latter’s round one advantage.
Contest Five – The third contest of the day was an easy win for Ahantaman Girls’ SHS, as they dominated the contest from the first round to the last round.
Contest Six – For the most part of the last contest, it was pretty much a one-man show. Bompeh SHTS gained more points by answering most of the bonus questions in the first round and successfully maintained their lead to the end of the contest.
