Northern Ghana Giants, St Francis Xavier Junior Seminary SHS, had the highest score in the Upper West Regional Qualifiers, and they continued their winning streak in defeating Tamale Girls’ SHS and Zamse SHTS in the second contest of Day One at the Regional Preliminary Stage.
They had earned a name for themselves as the Northern Ghana Giants, with two appearances at the NSMQ Grand Finale in 2012 and 2014.
In Round One, the Northern Ghana Giants, St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary SHS, was slain by Tamale Girls’ SHS who led the round with nine points. St. Francis Xavier Seminary SHS had a spectacular come-back in the second round taking over the competition with 23 points; more than three times the points of the closest opponent.

St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary SHS got close to winning the Prudential Life NSMQ Star, scoring seven out of 10 points in Round Three.
In Round Five, Tamale Girls’ SHS and Zamse SHTS tied with 21 points each. Tamale Girls’ SHS answered the tie-breaker correctly making them the first runner-up of the contest.

St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary SHS answered three out of four riddles correctly in Round five, winning the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, worth GH¢800.00
St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary SHS ended the contest with 49 points reigning supreme, with Tamale Girls’ SHS and Zamse SHS lurking behind.
With 45 points, St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary SHS won the AirtelTigo Highest Scorer of the Day, worth Gh¢1000.00.
