The third and final contest on Day One of the Northern Zone Preliminary Stage had Walewale SHTS from the North East Region competing with Damongo SHS from Savannah Region and St. Charles Minor Seminary SHS.
St. Charles Minor Seminary SHS stole the show from Round One, leading the pack with 18 points. They continued the charge to victory with 28 points in round two, with Walewale SHTS and Damongo SHS nowhere in sight!

St. Charles Minor Seminary SHS, who showed a lot of potential throughout the first two rounds, got only one point in Round Three for their attempt at solving the Problem of the Day. None of the three schools got a perfect score of 10 at the end of the third round; forfeiting the GH¢2000.00 prized Prudential Life NSMQ Star.
St. Charles Minor Seminary SHS won the third contest in the Northern Zone with 35 points, beating Walewale SHTS and Damongo SHS to qualify to the One-eighth Stage of the National Championship.
