The fourth contest within the Northern Zone Preliminary Stage was between Navrongo SHS, Sandema SHS and Bolgatanga SHS.

Earlier this year, the lesser-known Sandema SHTS qualified for the NSMQ Prelims by subjecting the highly-rated Notre Dame Seminary SHS to ridicule. This time around they were on the receiving end as Bolgatanga SHS and Navrongo SHS beat them on Day Two of the Northern Zone Preliminary Stage.

At the end of the first round, Navrongo SHS took the lead with 16points followed closely by Sandema SHS with 13points and Bolgatanga SHS with 12points

There was a miraculous turn of events for Bolgatanga SHS who powered through to be on top of the game in Round Two with 21points as Sandema SHS and Navrongo SHS followed behind with 14 and 11 points respectively.

Bolgatanga SHS and Navrongo SHS had an impressive score of 7points for the Problem of the Day in Round Three, unfortunately not enough to win the Prudential Life NSMQ Star, worth GHC 2000.

Beginning the contest with the lowest points, Bolgatanga SHS had an impressive win at the end of the Round Five with 47points standing the chance of winning the Airtel-Tigo highest Scorer of the Day worth Ghc1000.

However, there is a little glimpse of hope for Navrongo SHS as the two top runners-up of the day will compete against Northern School of Business in contest six, for another chance at the National Championship.

Here is a breakdown of how the fourth contest in the Northern Zone Preliminary Stage panned out.
