Agogo State College has made it to this year’s NSMQ One-eighth stage after being disqualified last year for fielding an unqualified contestant in the region’s qualifiers. Last year would have marked their return to the national championship after sitting on the sidelines for three years.

In round one, they led the contest with 23 points followed by Kumasi Secondary Technical School with 18 and Islamic SHS Kumasi with 12.

In round three, Agogo State College and Kumasi Secondary Technical School had a perfect score of 10 from solving the Problem of the Day, winning the Prudential Life NSMQ Star worth GHC 2000 sponsored by Prudential Life Insurance.

In the final round of the contest, Kumasi Secondary Technical School missed the last riddle that would have won them the GOIL Riddle Bonanza worth GHC800.  They put up a challenging competition for Agogo State College but it was not enough to secure a sure-fire qualification to the One-eighth stage.

Agogo State College impressively secured the first of seven slots in the Ashanti Region. With 50 points at the end of Contest One, Agogo State College stands the chance of winning the Airtel-Tigo Highest Scorer of the Day worth Ghc1000.
