Accra Academy has toppled the reigning champions of the NSMQ, St. Augustine’s College, in an incredible battle of wits in the third contest of the Quarterfinal Stage.
The contest was keenly contested, with St. Augustine’s College and Accra Academy ending the first round with 27 points each, while Kumasi Secondary Technical School followed with 17 points.
St. Augustine’s College and Accra Academy kept swapping places in the lead in the subsequent rounds. In the third round, Kumasi Secondary Technical School scored the highest in the Problem of the Day with eight points, while Accra Academy and St. Augustine’s College scored four and one point respectively.
In Round Five, Accra Academy and St. Augustine’s College tied again with 50 points after the third riddle. The journey for the reigning champions ended when Accra Academy answered the last riddle correctly to secure a spectacular win.
Apart from winning the contest, Accra Academy also walked out of the auditorium as the AirtelTigo Highest Scorer of the Day.
