Eleven more schools to join the Preliminary Stage of NSMQ 2021

A total of eleven (11) schools have been selected to join the 108 schools that won their various contests at the Regional Qualifiers, which was held in May/June, 2021, to compete at the Preliminary Stage of the 2021 edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Preliminary Stage of the 2021 edition of the NSMQ would be held at Regional/Zonal levels – like it was done in 2020 – as a means of reducing the number of participating schools that would converge in camp at the competition. However, due to the varying number of schools in the individual regions/zones, resulting in incomplete fixtures, it was necessary that some schools be invited to get a minimum number of three schools per contest.

A view from the 2021 Regional Qualifiers

Thus, these eleven schools were selected to participate in the Preliminary Stage, together with the 108 regional qualifiers. Even though they lost their individual contests, the eleven schools were selected for being top runners-up in their various regions.

Below is a list of the eleven schools and their scores:

  1. Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ SHS (43)

  2. Nsaba Presby SHS (34)

  3. Eguafo Abrem SHS (34)

  4. St Augustine’s SHS, Bogoso (29)

  5. Fijai SHS (29)

  6. Manya Krobo SHS (37)

  7. Zion College (32)

  8. Kpedze SHS (22)

  9. Mawuli School (22)

  10. St Francis Seminary SHS (26)

  11. Acherensua SHS (26)

The National Science & Maths Quiz is sponsored by the Ghana Education Service in partnership with Absa Bank Ghana Limited and supported by Joy News and Goil.

Updates on all contests will be on the official NSMQ Ghana Facebook, Instagram and Twitter platforms.
