The team from Amaniampong SHS has made a name for themselves at this year’s National Science & Maths Quiz National Championship, after beating Abuakwa State College and St. Monica’s SHS with a thoroughly impressive win. From the start of the contest to its end, they seemed to be in a depth of their own, leaving their opponents Abuakwa State College and St. Monica’s SHS behind.
With an outstanding kickoff, Amaniampong SHS ended the first round with 24 points, while St. Monica’s SHS and Abuakwa State College lagged behind with eight (08) and six (06) points respectively.
Although Abuakwa State College managed to score 8/10 in the third round, it was not enough to usurp Amaniampong’s obvious dominance. The difference was emphasized by the cheers of the supporters of Amaniampong SHS which kept the winning spirit alive throughout the contest.
Another impressive highlight of their #NSMQPrelims performance was their Round Five Performance, which saw them pick up a cash prize of GHC 800.00 for the Goil Riddle Bonanza. Their unrelenting consistency ensured a win and helped them answer three out of four riddles correctly.
Amaniampong SHS, along with the 39 Preliminary Stage winners and 15 Top Runners-up, will find out which schools they face on Thursday 13th October, 2022 when the balloting of contests for the One-eighth Stage takes place.
