All through the Regional Qualifiers through to the Preliminary Stage contests, Mfantsipim School (KWABOTWE) has not ceased to display a remarkable performance. After managing a tough win at the One-eighth Stage against Suhum Presby SHS and Techiman SHS, the team from KWABOTWE made their way to the Quarterfinals.

The Quarterfinal Stage of the National Championship took a leadoff at the Saarah-Mensah Auditorium on Wednesday, 19th of October, 2022. Participating in the second contest of the first day were Mfantsipim School, Tamale SHS (TAMASCO), and St. Hubert Sem (SAHUSS).

Mfantsipim School approached the start of the contest with confident composures. In an effort to continue impressing, they provided accurate results to almost all their Round One questions. They managed to take up more bonus questions, securing them an early lead.  They maintained their lead in the second round, however, after unimpressive performances in Round Three, none of the three schools received the Prudential Life NSMQ star award.

Regardless, at the end of the third round, Mfantsipim School sat in a soft lead with 41 points while TAMASCO and SAHUSS dallied with 25 and 23 points respectively. SAHUSS claimed a ‘clean sheet’ after answering all their True/False questions correctly in the fourth round but it was not enough to beat KWABOTWE.

After such a thrilling round, Mfantsipim sat in a tight spot with continuing hopes of progressing to the Semi-Finals. St. Hubert Sem. SHS gave Mfantsipim School a good and tough run for their money. Having begun the contest on a rather slow note, St. Hubert’s impressive and remarkable performance in the subsequent rounds couldn’t see them to the SemiFinals.
