The Quarterfinals stage has seen interesting turnouts at its start. With the attainment of new seeds, all schools are in for the grand prize at the National Championship. In the seats for the first contest of the second day of the Quarterfinals were; St. Augustine’s College (AUGUSCO), Osei Tutu SHS (OT) and Ghana National College (NATIONAL).

Osei Tutu SHS commenced the contest with a thoroughly impressive performance. They managed to provide clear-cut answers to nine questions out of the 12 provided. They took the lead with a point difference against St. Augustine’s college at the end of the first round. But as the Speed Race approached, AUGUSCO intensified their speed, passing OT to sit in the lead at the end of the second round.
Tackling the Problem of the Day with the wrong approach, Osei Tutu was awarded a zero mark for their efforts. Ghana National College managed to approach the question with some required methods but shortened their success quickly with the sound of the bell, scoring them three points. St. Augustine’s College seemed to know exactly what the question sought. They accurately approached the question with the required methods but as well shortened their success earning them seven points at the end of the third round.

With a set of preambles into the fourth round, all three schools managed to provide correct answers for the first three sets of ‘True/ False questions. It was as though they were all in a race for more points to earn them a slot in the SemiFinals Stage. All three schools performed remarkably in the fourth round with AUGUSCO and NATIONAL claiming the ‘clean sheet, with correct answers all-round. The OT boys could not join in the claims as they provided a solitary incorrect answer at the end of the round.
It was a taut contest to witness. In the last round of the contest, Ghana National College rang in for the first riddle question as the third clue was being read. They provided the correct answer and earned three points for their accuracy. The remaining three questions favoured St. Augustine’s College as they rang in with precise and perfect answers. They earned the Goil Riddle Bonanza award of GHS1,600.00.

St. Augustine’s College will face Adisadel College and Opoku Ware School at the Semifinal Stage scheduled for Sunday 23rd 0ctober, 2022.
