The last contest of the Quarter-finals stage commenced with deafening cheers and chants from supporters of the schools set for the contest. The contest featured Opoku Ware School (OWASS), Keta SHTS (KETASCO) and Adventist SHS, Bantama (ADASS). The pursuit for the last slot to the SemiFinals was initiated as the bell rang in to signal the start of the contest.

It was a great start for Opoku Ware School as they managed to provide precise answers to nine out of their 12 questions. They struggled with a few bonus attempts but managed to keep their lead. Keta SHTS and Adventist SHS as well put in their best at the start of the contest. Into the second round of the contest, KETASCO were apace for the win. They survived a lead at the end of the round, leaving OWASS closely behind as ADASS dawdled.
Opoku Ware School started the Problem of the Day right but fell apart in the process. Their efforts of accuracy could only earn them four points out of ten. Keta SHTS and Adventist SHS, Bantama seemed to have no idea how to meet the demands of the Problem. After attempting the question, they were awarded three and one points each out of the perfect score of ten on ten.

KETASCO kickstarted the True/False round on a good note, providing accurate answers to the questions being asked. A few sets of questions into the round, however, KETASCO lost a point. Instantaneously, it was evident that OWASS was hot on the heels of KETASCO, providing a free pass for OWASS into the lead. It was as though OWASS’s substitution into the fourth round proved a saviour with a clean sheet of 12 straight right answers in that Round.
In the final round of the contest, all the hard work had been done, it was time to relax and play. And the ‘Akatakyie’ proved they were ready to play as indeed the gentlemen they were. OWASS put up an awe-inspiring performance, answering all four riddles explicitly. They earned the Goil Riddle Bonanza award worth GHS2,000.00.
OWASS will face St. Augustine’s College and Adisadel College in the Semifinals scheduled for Sunday 23rd October, 2022.
