Click clock, click clock! The end of the 2023 edition of the NSMQ LiveChat is approaching fast, and Thursday’s episode marks the conclusion of this year’s series. Nevertheless, the buzz is at its peak as we gear up to welcome our guests: the powerhouse pair from West Africa Senior High School who competed in the 2018 finals but unfortunately fell short to St. Peters SHS. Join us as we revisit this exhilarating experience and commemorate their extraordinary journey.

In 2018, Sahene Arkoh (Right) and Abdul Hameed Tade (Left), made history by taking their school to its first-ever finals in the competition

West Africa Senior High School (WASS) is widely known for producing some of the best minds in the National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) competition. In 2018, two of their brightest students, Sahene Arkoh and Abdul Hameed Tade, made history by taking their school to its first-ever finals in the competition. Although they narrowly missed out on the trophy to St. Peter’s Senior High School, their performance was nothing short of impressive.

Fast forward to 2023, and the #NSMQLiveChat is set to host these two geniuses. The LiveChat has since its inception brought together some of the most notable names in the NSMQ to share their success stories and to relive their glorious moments in the competition. Sahene and Abdul Hameed are the perfect duo to grace the last day of the 2023 Edition of the show. This conversation is much anticipated as it is expected to boost the morale of the ‘WASSARRIANS’ who have not made it past the Quarter-final Stage since 2018.

For his impressive performance, Abdul Hameed Tade (Second from left) won a Full Scholarship to study Computer Engineering at Academic City University College, Ghana

This last episode, which is the first to host two NSMQ Alumni in 2023, promises to be an insightful and exciting conversation. The two alumni are expected to share their experiences, challenges, and successes in the NSMQ competition and beyond. They will also discuss their academic journey and how it has influenced their career choices.

As we wait for the #NSMQLiveChat to kick off at 5 pm on Thursday, 20th April 2023, let’s take a closer look at the academic achievements of these two young men. Sahene Arkoh is a talented and self-driven aspiring biomedical engineer with specialities in digital x-ray hardware systems. In addition to his passion for biomedical engineering, Sahene is also a skilled data analyst, proficient in Python and SQL. He is motivated by the goal of finding ground-breaking medical and healthcare insights.

On the other hand, Abdul Hameed Tade is a computer engineer from Academic City University College, Ghana.
