The final day of the One-eighth stage contest for the Quarter-finals took place at the Kumapley Auditorium, featuring three schools: Keta SHTS, Koforidua Sec.Tech ("Mmarima Mma"), and St. John’s Grammar School. Koforidua Sec Tech had secured qualification from the Prelims with a strong score of 66 points. KETASCO was among the seeded schools, while St. John’s Grammar had triumphed in the prelims with 33 points. At the end of the contest, KETASCO qualified impressively with a score of 70 points and also earned the prestigious Goil Riddle Bonanza Prize for answering all four questions correctly. It's likely that with 70 points, Keta could also secure the AT Highest Scorer Award by the end of the day.

The 30th Anniversary edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz kicked off, on October 6, 2023. As an exciting highlight of the 30th Anniversary celebrations, this year's NSMQ is hosted in two distinct regions: KNUST in Kumasi and the National Theatre in Accra. This historic occurrence represents the first time the National Championship spans across two regions. KNUST serves as the venue for the Preliminary four stages of the competition, with the Grand Finale scheduled to captivate audiences at the National Theatre.

The first three contestants for the final day of the One-eighth stage contest at the Kumapley Auditorium took their seats at 8:30 a.m., and the Quiz Mistress, Dr. Anita Oppong, commenced the contest at 9:10 a.m. KETASCO was leading with an impressive score of 41 points at the end of Rounds One and Two.
Before Round Three began, both St. John’s Grammar and Koforidua Sec. Tech. decided to make substitutions. By the conclusion of Rounds Four and Five, KETASCO was in a comfortable lead with 70 points, automatically securing their spot in the Quarter-finals. They also claimed the prestigious Goil Riddle Bonanza Prize of GH1,600.
