Anjali Balvantsinh Rathod, together with Lawal Sanusi, represented Tamale Senior High School (Tamale SHS) in the 2019 National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ). In that year's competition, Tamale SHS faced formidable opponents, including St. Augustine’s College, Ada SHS and Boa Amponsem SHS.
Notably, Tamale SHS posed a significant challenge to eventual NSMQ 2019 champions, St. Augustine’s College at the Quarter-final Stage, maintaining a competitive edge until the final round.
In a heart-stopping final round, St. Augustine’s College solved all four riddles correctly to win the contest. Although Tamale SHS’ remarkable journey ended at the Quarter-final Stage, their performance was one for the ages.
Despite the setback on the NSMQ stage, Anjali’s subsequent achievements have demonstrated her resilience and determination. Following her NSMQ participation, Anjali remained committed to academic excellence, culminating in her recent graduation from the University of Ghana, Legon, with first-class honours in Biomedical Engineering.
