Competing in the day's first contest, Ashaiman SHS faced Aggrey Memorial SHS and Ghana-Lebanon Islamic School. Ashaiman SHS secured 40 points, earning their place in the One-eighth Stage of the 2024 National Science & Maths Quiz.
Students from Aggrey Memorial stormed the Auditorium in large numbers to cheer their contestants. The supporters however, gave up their cheers at one point as the schools failed to answer their questions correctly in the First Round.
All three competing schools proved their worth during the Prudential Life Insurance Speed Race but at the end, Aggrey Memorial answered and got more points from the Round.
There was a sigh of relief in the hall when the Quiz Mistress of the contest, Dr Gladys Odey Schwinger, read out the "Problem of the Day" which demanded the contestants to list symptoms of Kwashiorkor. But before she read out the answers, she disclosed that the answers to the question weren’t as easy as the audience thought.
At the end of the Problem of the Day round, although the schools found the questions easy, none managed to score the maximum points.
Ashaiman SHS excelled in the Jupay Money Transfer True or False Round, answering more questions correctly and securing additional points.
In the Goil Riddle Bonanza round, all schools fiercely competed for the prize, but Ashaiman SHS ultimately emerged as the winner of the contest.
