Konongo Odumase SHS emerged victorious in the gripping fourth contest of the day. They claimed the highest score of the day with 56 points and also received the Pepsodent Highest Scorer Award of GH₵1,000 and the Goil Riddle Bonanza Award of GH₵800, capping off a fantastic day for the school. St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary and St. Joseph’s SHS, were unfortunately kicked out.
The Odumase boys really cooked!
The atmosphere in the auditorium was electrifying, with a boisterous crowd cheering as the contestants were introduced by the quiz mistress, Dr Thelma Ohene-Agyei. Konongo Odumase SHS reflected on a challenging journey to the National Championships, hopeful of advancing. St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary shared their tough road but felt well-prepared after training and learning from past mistakes. “With God, all things are possible,” was the hopeful message from St. Joseph’s SHS.
The showdown began with the first round of questions, where Konongo Odumase SHS raced ahead with 20 points, closely followed by St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary and St. Joseph’s SHS, who scored 15 and 14 points, respectively.
In Round Two, Konongo Odumase SHS aimed to prove their academic superiority, answering nine questions correctly in the Prudential Life Speed Race to reach an impressive 41 points. Meanwhile, St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary remained scoreless in this round, which left both St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary and St. Joseph’s SHS facing challenges ahead of the Problem of the Day round.
The “Problem of the Day” posed a challenge for Konongo Odumase SHS, earning just two points. However, St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary and St. Joseph’s SHS struggled to capitalise, with each managing only four points.
Pepsodent Highest Scorer Award
In the Jupay True/False round, Konongo Odumase SHS stumbled early, missing their first question. They recovered to answer four correctly but missed another four, ending the round with 47 points. St. Joseph’s SHS and St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary followed with 28 and 29 points, respectively.
Konongo Odumase SHS showcased their dominance in the Round Five, correctly answering three riddles. Their success earned them the Goil Riddle Bonanza Award of GH₵800 and secured their qualification for the One-eighth Stage of the National Championship.

After achieving the highest score of the day, Konongo Odumase SHS also took home the Pepsodent Highest Scorer Award of GH₵1,000 capping off a fantastic day for the school.
