Wallahs Academy, one of the private schools competing in the 2024 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), has advanced to the One-Eighth Stage with 32 points, defeating O'Reilly Senior High School and Adanwomase Senior High School.
The contest, moderated by Quiz Mistress Dr Anita Oppong, began with Wallahs Academy setting the pace, answering seven out of eight questions in Round One. Meanwhile, O'Reilly SHS and Adanwomase SHS, both making their first appearance at the National Championship, struggled to keep up.
In the Prudential Life Insurance Speed Race round, none of the schools managed to secure the full ten points. Wallahs Academy scored two points, while O'Reilly SHS and Adanwomase SHS each managed one point.
During the 'Problem of the Day' round, all schools again fell short of the ten points, with Wallahs Academy scoring two points and O'Reilly SHS and Adanwomase SHS securing one point each.
Wallahs Academy regained momentum in Round Four's Jupay Money Transfer True or False. In Round Five's GOIL Riddle Bonanza, they further solidified their position, securing advancement to the One-eighth Stage.
This is a significant achievement for the academy, having made their debut at the Preliminary Stage just last year, and now making impressive progress to the One-eighth Stage in the 2024 competition.
