The reigning champions of the 2023 edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz , Presbyterian Boys' Secondary School (PRESEC), demonstrated their prowess once again at the One-eighth Stage of the 2024 competition.
PRESEC battled Kofi Agyei Senior High Technical School and Ghana Senior High School, Tamale in an intense contest that saw them emerge victorious with a strong 60 points, earning their place in the Quarter-finals.
The contest began with the Quiz Mistress, Dr. Anita Oppong, asking each school about their expectations. Kofi Agyei SHTS expressed hope for the best, while Ghana SHS, the regional champions, shared a similar sentiment. PRESEC was also determined to maintain their championship status.
The first round was competitive, with all three schools eager to make their mark. However, PRESEC quickly gained momentum, answering seven questions correctly and securing three bonus points, finishing the round with 24 points.
