St. Augustine’s College has clinched the last spot in the Grand Finale of the 2024 National Science & Maths Quiz, marking their first appearance after four years. They secured the win with a final score of 52 points after a close contest against Ghana National College and Wesley Girls’ High School.
The energy in the SGS Auditorium was intense as supporters of all three Central Region schools filled the venue, nearly delaying the start of the contest. The presence of a strong fan base from each school amplified the enthusiasm, with loyal supporters rallying behind their teams in hopes of a victory.
Ghana National College set the tone by taking an early lead in the First Round, sparking excitement among their supporters. Darius, a key contestant from Ghana National College, became the crowd favorite, with supporters cheering him on as he tried to dominate the First Round.
However, in a thrilling turn of events, St. Augustine’s College surged to the front in the Second Round, the "Prudential Life Insurance Speed Race," where they answered most of the questions, overtaking Ghana National College to claim the lead.
The momentum continued into the "Problem of the Day", with St. Augustine’s College earning eight out of 10 points, narrowly missing a perfect score due to time constraints. Meanwhile, Ghana National College and Wesley Girls’ High School faced difficulties, with Ghana National College securing four points and Wesley Girls’ High School five points, leaving St. Augustine’s College firmly in the lead.
In Round Four, St. Augustine's College continued to do wonderful work increasing their chance of winning with Ghana National College and Wesley Girl's High School continuing to struggle. The "Jupay Money Transfer True or False" round ended with St. Augustine's College establishing a solid lead with 52 points.

In the final Round, the "GOIL Super Riddle Bonanza," St. Augustine’s College couldn’t answer any riddles, while Ghana National College succeeded in answering three. However, their points were insufficient to close the gap, allowing St. Augustine’s College to emerge victorious with the the highest score of 52 points, winning GH₵ 3,000 for the Pepsodent Highest Scorer Award.
