St. Augustine’s College clinched a Semi-final spot with an impressive 56 points in an intense contest at the SGS Auditorium. They competed against fellow Catholic institutions St. Hubert Seminary SHS, who finished with 42 points, and Bishop Herman College, who ended with 35. This thrilling showdown earned the nickname “Rosary Battle,” reflecting the competitive spirit and among the schools.
The Augustinians, backed by enthusiastic supporters, demonstrated strength from the start, edging ahead with 25 points in Round One. Building momentum, they extended their lead to 34 points in the Prudential Life Insurance Speed Race, while St. Hubert Seminary SHS and Bishop Herman College trailed with 27 and 18 points respectively.
The competition remained tight in the “Problem of the Day” round, where all schools scored equally on a Chemistry question, allowing St. Augustine’s to retain their lead.
Dominance became evident in the Jupay Money Transfer True/False round, where St. Augustine’s answered every question correctly, reaching 53 points. Finally, in the GOIL Super Bonanza round, they secured their victory by answering a riddle, finishing with 56 points, while Bishop Herman earned the GOIL Super Bonanza Award with two successful riddle answers.
