NSMQ 2024: "We’re Ready to Face the So-Called ‘Big Boys’!" – Sirigu Integrated SHS Coordinator Declares

Sirigu Integrated Senior High School is gearing up for their first-ever appearance at the 2024 edition of the National Championship of the National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ), with unshakeable confidence. After securing a striking victory in the Regional Qualifiers against Sandema SHS, Kanjarga Community SHS, and Bawku SHS, they now face St. Peter’s SHS and Hohoe E.P. SHS in a highly anticipated evening contest at Auditorium 900.

The contest will be moderated by Quiz Mistress Dr. Thelma Ohene-Agyei, adding an extra level of excitement to this pivotal match.

In an exclusive interview with the Publishing team, the coordinator of Sirigu Integrated SHS expressed bold ambitions, declaring that his school is ready to beat all contenders and take home the prestigious NSMQ trophy. "We’re not here to make up the numbers—we’re here to win," he asserted. "St. Peter’s may be considered one of the top schools in this competition, but we’ll go head-to-head with them and come out on top. People think they’re unbeatable, but we’re going to show everyone otherwise."

The coordinator didn’t stop there. He set his sights on even bigger competitors: "How I wish we could meet the ‘so-called’ best schools like Presbyterian Boys' Secondary School (PRESEC) and Prempeh College. When we face them, we’ll prove our strength and beat them boot for boot. The whole of Ghana will see that Sirigu Integrated SHS is a force to be reckoned with."

One of the contestants from Sirigu Integrated SHS shared his excitement about his school's first-ever appearance on the national stage. “We’re ready to take the trophy. PRESEC and Prempeh College may have reputations, but they’re not better than us. We’ll show everyone that Sirigu is a name to remember,” he said confidently.

As the tension builds for this evening's clash with St. Peter’s SHS and Hohoe E.P. SHS, all eyes will be on Sirigu Integrated SHS to see if they can advance to the next stage and face off against the ‘big boys’ of the competition.
