The reigning Western Zonal Champions, Archbishop Porter Girls' SHS (APGSS), lost their Preliminary Stage contest to a formidable team from Takoradi SHS. The Western Zone's second #NSMQPrelims contest was a nail-biter for supporters of APGSS, who remain hopeful of progress despite their loss. Takoradi SHS took an early lead in the first round with 19 points, while Archbishop Porter Girls' SHS came second with 10 points and Bompeh SHTS placed third with 07 points.
Contrary to the expectations of followers of the contest, Archbishop Porter Girls' SHS could not climb up to the first position after five rounds of the contest. The favourites placed second with 49 points with Takoradi SHS placing first with an impressive 60 points.
