On the third day of the NSMQ 2023 held at KNUST, proceeding began on a high note with a well-deserved triumph for Konongo Odumasi SHS. They effortlessly outperformed their rivals, Asamankese SHS and Sonrise Christian High School (one of the private schools contesting in the NSMQ 2023), securing an impressive score of 44 points.

The 30th Anniversary edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz kicked off, on October 6th, 2023. As an exciting highlight of the 30th Anniversary celebrations, this year's NSMQ is being hosted in two distinct regions: KNUST in Kumasi and the National Theatre in Accra. This historic occurrence represents the first time the National Championship spans across two regions. KNUST will serve as the venue for the initial four stages of the competition, with the Grand Finale scheduled to captivate audiences at the National Theatre.
Three schools vied for supremacy at the KNUST Auditorium. At precisely 9:00 am, all contestants were seated in anticipation of the competition's start. The Quiz Mistress, Mrs. Gladys Odey Schwinger officially began the contest at 9:15 am. Competing for a spot in the One-eighth stage of the annual National Science & Maths Quiz Competition were Asamankese SHS, Sonrise Christian High School, and Konongo Odumasi SHS.

The initial round posed a challenge for all three schools, with questions proving to be both slow and challenging. However, at the conclusion of the first round, Konongo Odumase was leading with 16 points. As Round 2 drew to a close, Konongo Odumase demonstrated their determination to succeed.

The spirited supporters from Konongo Odumasi transformed the auditorium atmosphere with their enthusiastic cheers, screams, and applause, significantly boosting the morale of the contestants. Ultimately, after Round 5, Konongo Odumasi won and secured a spot in the One-eighth Stage of the 2023 National Science & Maths Quiz competition."
