Simms SHS Stuns Rivals, Books Place in One-eighth Stage!

The 2024 edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz at the SGS Auditorium surprised many, as Simms SHS emerged victorious after facing stiff competition from Kpando SHS and Hope College. Despite the best efforts of the competing schools, Simms SHS proved to be the strongest.


The Quiz Mistress, Dr Gladys Odey Schwinger, helped the contestants feel at ease at the start of the contest. The atmosphere at the SGS Auditorium was electric, with both past and present students in attendance to cheer for their respective schools. When the contest began, tensions were high as the schools endeavoured to make their mark. However, by the end of the contest, it was Simms SHS who had the last laugh.


Kpando SHS initially took the lead in Round One but had to battle fiercely with Simms SHS, who shared the same points at the end of the Round Two, while Hope College lagged behind.



Kpando SHS dominated Round Three, also known as the 'Problem of the Day,' earning 5 points while Hope College and Simms SHS followed. Simms SHS faced challenges in Round Four, the True/False round, which allowed Kpando SHS to hold their lead.


However, in a thrilling turn of events, Simms SHS rallied in Round Five, overcoming their rivals with a remarkable comeback to win by a 5-point margin. This impressive victory has secured their place in the One-eighth Stage
